What is the difference between a GSC On-Site Job Analysis and a JSA/JHA?

A Job Analysis is the process of determining the essential functions and specific physical demands associated with a job.
A job hazard analysis (JHA) is a technique that focuses on job tasks as a way to identify hazards before they occur. It only focuses on the relationship between the worker, the task, the tools, and the work environment.
A job safety analysis (JSA) is a procedure which helps integrate accepted safety and health principles and practices into a particular task or job operation. In a JSA, each basic step of the job is to identify potential hazards and to recommend the safest way to do the job.

What services can be implemented based on the Job Analysis?

Once the GSC On-Site Services Job Analysis is completed the Physician Summary Report and Ergonomic Risk Assessment Reports are completed as part of the deliverable package. The Physician Summary Report can be sent to treating physicians to effect timely and accurate return to work. The Ergonomic Risk Assessment Report identifies low cost recommendations to reduce risky biomechanics movements and postures associated with jobs.

Ergonomic Risk Assessment Report

The Ergonomic Risk Assessment Report is a summary of a specific job, proper body mechanics and musculoskeletal groups to perform the job resulting in:

• Low-cost recommendation and accompanied resources

• Risk reduction for improper biomechanics

• Fatigue reduction

Recommendations for remediation are low cost and can reduce the physical demand levels or improve work postures and positions to reduce fatigue.
